Agriculture Development

The aim of Agriculture Development Department is to promote agricultural practices among all the households, through organic methods. Potential danger of using chemical pesticides and fertilizers is making alarming problems for the present and future generations. Realizing this fact, KIDS has made sincere initiatives for developing sustainable agricultural sector.
The major programmes implemented by the Agriculture Development Department are as follows:
- Encouraged every family in the operational area of KIDS to conduct nuclear organic farming in their own households. KIDS look forward to introduce a new culture in every family where they perform organic farming in their households and that they will consume only organic food.

- Vegetable seeds were distributed to one lakh persons and SHGs who were very much interested in organic farming. They were also provided with sufficient training in the same.
- Networked with Agricultural University, State Horticulture Mission and Horticorp for updating the knowledge on agriculture practices.
- Installed vermi compost in all the households and established market linkage for vermi compost.
- KIDS also is in its developmental stage with regard to studies and research in this area, that too having a vital role in developing the economic stability and health of the community together with ensuring balance of the ecosystem.
